7 Essential Things from My Gym Bag

Need some new ideas to spice up your gym bag? Look no further! I have compiled a list of 7 items that I never hit the gym without. These 7 essentials from my gym bag keep my workouts flowing, my skin feeling kick ass, and my system functioning. Whether you are a newbie looking for ideas or a seasoned gym-rat looking to spice things up there is something here for you!

Yes to Grapefruit Wipes

I absolutely love all of the Yes To products. My favorite product from Yes To is hands down the grapefruit wipes. They smell delicious and are so soft on your skin after an intense workout session. Instead of making your skin feel dry after you use them, they leave your face feeling clean and fresh. Not only do I keep a package of these in my gym back, but I also keep a package in my backpack for impromptu sweat sessions! Check them out here.

Yes to Carrots Moisturizer

The Yes to Carrots moisturizer is great after a workout because it does not feel heavy on your face. I absolutely hate gunking products onto my face after a sweat sesh, which is why I don’t wear make-up during workouts. There is no better feeling to me than making my face feel fresh and clean after a tough workout. Following the wipe down with the Yes to Grapefruit wipes with the Yes to Carrots moisturizer is the perfect way to keep your skin healthy. Having this duo in my gym bag leaves me feeling invincible. Reebok Lifters

After I started squatting in my Reebok lifters I added ten pounds to my back and front squats. Not because my legs instantly got stronger. Not because I took extra pre-workout ;). I added weight to my squats because I felt more stable with the hard, flat sole and slightly elevated heel of the Reebok lifters. The Velcro strap over the top and the no-slip laces makes for a worry free squat that only leaves you wondering if you can get the bar back up. The only thing you should have to worry about when you are lifting is the weights, not your outfit. The Reebok lifters provide this security. Check mine out here.

Apple Headphones

These are the only headphones that I have ever found that actually stick in my ears. They don’t fall out when I do burpees (ugh!) and they are small enough to stay out of the way during my most intense workouts. I personally don’t like the big bulky headphones, so these little buds are perfect. There is nothing like having your best playlist pumping in your ears while killing a workout, so having the right ear buds in my gym bag is essential. Check ’em out here.

Optimum Nutrition Pro BCAA’s

BCAAs are the grease that keep the wheels spinning. Sipping on my pink lemonade Optimum Nutrition Pro BCAAs during my workouts help me get to that next level of intensity where results are achieved. Unless I am doing a track workout, plain water just does not do it for me during my workouts. Neither do sports drinks with their high amounts of sugar and spit producing loveliness. BCAAs give me the flavor I crave without the unwanted sugar while also helping repair my muscles after I have racked my last weight for the day. To see the other supplements I use, check out my article on supplements here.

Wrist Wraps

Wrist wraps are hands down one of the best tools that I use in the gym. I used to get some pretty terrible pains in my wrists when I did bench press. Now that I use the wrist wraps, my wrists no longer bother me while benching and I also feel more stable with the bar in my hands. I love the wrist wraps that you hook around your thumbs then wrap around your wrist, secured with Velcro. These wrist wraps are easy to use, super supportive, and comfortable to wear during those grueling bench sessions.

Bath and Body Works Sweet Pea Hand Sanitizer

You know how disgusting the weights can be at the gym. Sneezing, coughing, sweat-wiping, oh my! A whole slew of yuckiness covers the surfaces of everything at the gym. Obviously, it is best to wash your hands with soap and water and wipe down all of you gym equipment after you are done with it. However, sometimes you are in a rush and don’t want to make a pit stop at the bathroom to wash your hands. Or maybe you are allergic to the soap your gym provides. No matter the reason, I love to keep a small container of hand sanitizer with me to ward off those germs that could keep me out of the gym. I love Bath and Body Works sweat pea hand sanitizer because it smells really good and leaves my hands feeling nice and clean afterward :).

Do you have any favorite products that help you kill it in the gym? If so drop them in the comments so I can check them out!!
